Mr. Gao Hui born December 5, 1977 Ethnicity: Han Political Affiliation: Non-partisan Education: MBA, Hong Kong Baptist University Serial Entrepreneur In 2009, Gao Hui founded KanShu.com, an online literature platform. In 2010, the company secured investment from Sequoia Capital and quickly expanded in the mobile internet sector, becoming a leading force in China’s mobile digital literature industry. In 2013, KanShu.com was acquired by People.cn at a valuation of RMB 360 million.

After leaving KanShu.com in 2016, Gao Hui invested in and founded Chengdu Eight Light Minutes Cultural Communication Co., Ltd.. Over the past decade, the company has grown into a leading enterprise in China’s science fiction industry, publishing hundreds of titles for clients. As a founding and guiding institution, it has played a key role in the operation of the China University Sci-Fi Alliance and major sci-fi events such as the Tianwen Award and Lenghu Award. The company has helped discover and nurture a new generation of Chinese science fiction authors, including Haiya—the third Chinese writer to win the Hugo Award, following Hao Jingfang and Liu Cixin. Beyond Eight Light Minutes, Gao Hui has invested in multiple companies in the digital publishing sector. Since 2023, leveraging his expertise and resources in digital publishing and AI technology, he has helped portfolio companies expand into overseas markets, successfully entering North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
